Solano Deputies Seek Missing 15-Year-Old Girl, Suspect Who May Have Shot Her

The Solano County Sheriff's Office is looking for a a 15-year-old girl, and a Vallejo man who might have shot her on an I-780 overpass.

VALLEJO - The Solano County Sheriff's Office is looking for a Vallejo man who might have shot a 15-year-old girl on a freeway overpass Wednesday morning, a sheriff's deputy said.

Several people called the sheriff's office around 7 a.m. to report hearing shots fired near the Interstate Highway 780 pedestrian over-crossing from Home Acres Avenue to Taylor Avenue in Vallejo, Deputy Christine Castillo said.

A witness reported seeing a Hispanic man with a gun pulling a white female, who was bleeding and yelling for help, on the over-crossing, Castillo said.

The witness heard a gunshot while running for help, and responding deputies found blood on the ground, Castillo said.

Family members helped investigators identify the girl as 15-year-old Pearl Pinson who never arrived at school Wednesday, Castillo said.

She has green hair, and was last seen wearing a gray sweater, black leggings and had a black and turquoise backpack, Castillo said.

The man was identified as 19-year-old Fernando Castro of Vallejo.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and reading-type glasses, Castillo said.

The sheriff's office has not confirmed Pinson was shot or the extent of her injuries.
