Survey: Benicia Seeks Input On Emergency Operations Plan Update
Participation in the survey can make the city better prepared in its response to disasters, said Benicia fire Chief Josh Chadwick.

From The City of Benicia: The City of Benicia is asking for input from community members regarding an update to the Benicia Emergency Operations Plan. We are asking residents and those who work in Benicia to take a brief survey at www.ci.benicia.ca.us/beniciato... through Friday, February 15. This is your opportunity to read the Plan in its “Draft” form and provide feedback. “Your participation in this survey can make the City of Benicia better prepared in our response to disasters”, said Fire Chief Josh Chadwick. Responses to this survey will provide useful information as we update the City’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP).
The EOP establishes an emergency management organization and is the principal guide to the City’s response to, management of, and recovery from, real or potential emergencies and disasters occurring within city boundaries. The EOP also includes measures that are essential for protecting the public, including emergency warning, public information, evacuation, and shelter In 2018 the City began a review of its EOP to update preparedness and response practices. Visit the EOP Update webpage for more information. The EOP is not intended to address every possible scenario but instead is intended to address major incidents in general.
The updated EOP will be presented to the City Council in Spring 2019. For more information, email emergencyoperations@ci.benicia.ca.us or call (707) 746-4272
