The Friday Poem: Sheba

Each Friday Benicia Patch will publish an original poem. If you would like to submit your own poem please send it to benicia@patch.com.

This weeks piece is called, "Sheba" and was composed by Thomas Eric Stanton. I was introduced to Mr. Stanton by my good friend Peter Bray over cocktails. The two of them were conspiring to do a beat poetry reading of a Bob Dylan tune including audience participation at the last First Tuesday meeting to honor Ronna Leon. This poem's linear construction is interesting and almost has a Japanese calligraphy feeling to it. It is a wonderful example of stream of consciousness. I paired it with an original piece of art by Mr. Stanton for your pleasure.
