The Last Benicia Panther Baseball Team to Win It All
The 2004-2005 Benicia High School baseball team played their last game together on May 30, 2005.

Drew Fisher was a junior at Benicia High School in May 2005. At six feet tall and 150 pounds, he was a gangly third baseman on the last Panther baseball team to win the Sac-Joaquin Division III title six years ago today. That day the Panthers beat Woodland 4 -1. Fisher wasn't a starter but he was there.
"It was an exciting time," said Fisher, who is now an assistant coach for the team. "I was younger — a junior. I remember riding up on the bus, watching American Pie. We always watched comedies on the bus."
Asked whether he got to play in the championship game, he smiled and shook his head. "It was a senior-dominated performance."

One of the seniors from that team is still playing baseball. Craig Benningson played at Cal after his high school career and on June 8, 2008, he signed a contract with the Colorado Rockies organization.
