Traffic Alert: I-80 Reopened In Both Directions In Vallejo

VALLEJO, CA — A severe traffic alert prompted by police activity was lifted Monday evening for Interstate Highway 80 south of Interstate Highway 780 in Vallejo. The alert for I-80 at Magazine Street was lifted at 5:54 p.m., according to 511.org.

The alert was first reported by 511.org at 3:17 p.m., when all eastbound lanes were reportedly closed.

Then, at 4:44 p.m. Monday, California Highway Patrol and 511.org reported that all lanes were blocked in both the eastbound and westbound directions, with traffic being diverted off the freeway at Magazine Street.

Although the alert was lifted at 5:54 p.m, there were residual traffic delays.

Vallejo police did not immediately say what prompted the highway closure.
