On Tuesday's Solano County Ballot: Supes Race, 4 Measures
It's Supervisor Jim Spering vs. Fairfield City Councilmember Pam Bertani for 3rd District supervisor's seat.

Solano County’s ballot in Tuesday’s election includes a contest for the 3rd District supervisor’s seat, two measures in Benicia and two local school district bond measures.
Supervisor Jim Spering, the former Mayor of Suisun City, has been on the Board of Supervisors since 2006 is seeking to retain his seat. He cites the redevelopment of the Old Town Waterfront and historic Main Street Shopping District among his achievements.
Spering also said he helped secure funding for the Highway 12-Jameson Canyon Road widening project.

The challenger for the position is Fairfield City Councilmember Pam Bertani, a patent attorney, was elected to the Fairfield City Council in 2011.
Bertani says the county needs new businesses because 60 percent of its workforce leaves daily to work at jobs elsewhere in the Bay Area and in the Sacramento area. She said the county board must address crime and homelessness and its high unemployment and high school dropout rates.

The Vacaville Unified School District is proposing Measure A, a $195 million bond measure to replace roofs, renovate plumbing and electrical systems, modernize and construct classrooms and improve athletic fields and facilities.
The Vallejo City Unified School District’s Measure E is a $239 million bond sale for upgrading technology infrastructure and science labs, classroom repairs and improving security and fire safety systems.
Both measures require 55 percent approval.
Benicia is proposing Measure C, a one-cent sales tax to maintain police patrols, fire and 911 services, make pothole and road repairs and continue park maintenance and other city services.
It needs two-thirds approval to pass. Benicia’s Measure B asks voters whether the city treasurer position should be filled by appointment instead of election.
