Two Violent Crimes Reported This Week At East Bay BART Stations
An elderly woman was attacked and robbed at the West Dublin station, and a man was shot and robbed in the Bay Fair lot.

Dublin Police are investigating the robbery of a 72-year-old woman whose cell phone and purse were taken after she was attacked from behind near the West Dublin BART Station on Wednesday.
The victim was injured by “bodily force” during the incident, Lieutenant Herb Walters said.
“Our units happened to be in the area and was flagged down by a witness,” Walters said.

Dublin Police responded to a strong arm robbery with injuries at Golden Gate Dr. near the West Dublin BART Station on Wednesday, January 7, about 12:22 P.M.

A 72-year-old woman was located on the sidewalk with a large laceration to her face as a result of being attacked from behind by the suspect. The victim was taken to a local hospital to be treated for her non-life threatening injuries.
Taken in the robbery was the victim’s purse and cell phone.
Witnesses to the incident described the suspect as an African American male adult, about 5’ 5”, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey sweat pants. The suspect left the scene in a newer model four-door Honda Accord, grey or tan in color, driven by a second subject. The vehicle was last seen leaving Golden Gate Drive headed towards the I-680 on-ramp.

And in San Leandro on Tuesday:
A man was robbed when he was shot while walking through a parking lot at the Bay Fair BART station in San Leandro on Tuesday night, a police lieutenant said Wednesday.
The man was approached by two men in their 20s while walking through the parking lot at about 10:15 p.m., BART police Lt. Terence McCarty said.
The two suspects stole the victim’s backpack and shot him in the upper torso, McCarty said. The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition. He was stable today and able to be interviewed by police investigators, McCarty said.
The two suspects ran away after the shooting and police received reports they may have gotten into a white newer-model sedan, McCarty said.
The suspects remained at large as of Wednesday morning.
