Vallejo Man Accused Of Sexually Abusing Children At Local Church

According to police, the victims all attended the same church, and some of the alleged "continuous" sexual abuse happened at the church.

VALLEJO, CA — A 26-year-old Vallejo man is being held in Solano County jail in lieu of $750,000 bail after allegations surfaced that he sexually abused children who attended a local church. Jacob Tyler Hilton was arrested Friday, Aug. 16 on a warrant accusing him of continuous sexual abuse of a child, officials with the Vallejo Police Department said Thursday, Aug. 22, in a news release.

"Additional victims have been identified who also suffered sexual abuse at the hands of Hilton," Vallejo police Sgt. Mat Mustard said. "Those cases are being followed up on by investigators."

All of the victims attended First Baptist Church, 2025 Sonoma Blvd., in Vallejo, according to the police department's news release.

"Some of the acts of sexual abuse occurred at the church," Sgt. Mustard said in the news release.

Whether Hilton served in any sort of leadership role at the church, or in a ministry, was not immediately clear, and Patch was not able to reach the church by phone Thursday afternoon.

A Vallejo Police Department spokesperson said limited information was released because of the "very sensitive case with multiple confidential victims."
