Virtual School, Real-World Celebrations in Vacaville

Nearly 100 local students celebrated their graduation last week from online charter high school California Virtual Academy@ Sutter!

Graduation is a special time for high school students, as their hard work and dedication finally pay off with diplomas and hugs.

In Vacaville, a graduation ceremony on June 11 had an extra layer of excitement, as students who earned their diplomas through the full-time, tuition-free, online charter schools California Virtual Academy@ Sutter and California Virtual Academy@ Sonoma logged off for the last time and met classmates and teachers in person.

As nearly 100 students gathered at the Vacaville Performing Arts Center for two ceremonies with their families and friends, many met each other for the first time outside of their virtual classrooms. Congratulations to all of this year’s graduates!

At California Virtual Academy@ Sutter and @ Sonoma, California-credentialed teachers work with each student through an interactive digital learning platform to create an individualized plan, focused on his or her unique learning needs, goals, and interests.

California Virtual Academy@ Sutter and @ Sonoma host free community events and online information sessions throughout the year, and families can find more information on upcoming events by visiting http://cava.k12.com.
