Weidel Announces She'll Seek Re-Election to School board
She pledges to continue to fight for meaningful programs for all students.
In a statement released late yesterday announced she will seek re-election to the Benicia School Board.
In her statement Weidel says, "My decision to "run for re-election" has been swinging back and forth as I considered how best to serve education in Benicia."

"We are involved in difficult times," said Weidel. "Full of the demands of change at many levels. The impact of new technology, debates on methods of instruction, content of subject areas, testing for standards,population and cultural migrations---all important, effecting the classroom. And not the least of concerns, the budget. How to manage maintenance, payroll and benefits, community outreach."

"Our district administration is bare bones, said Weidel. "In deciding to re-run I considered how best to support this process that matters so much to our community. In times of change, continuity is important. Transitions are time for team work."
"I will hope to be re-elected and if I am I will continue to focus on the needs of early child education, pre-k through fifth grades, and the transitions required for middle school, grades six through eight" said Weidel. "I will work to maximize every child's access to meaningful learning experiences, to support teachers that promote this learning, and to ensure that we continue to offer a variety of vocational options and community service at both middle and high school."
No one else has announced plans to run for , although current board president is considering running for re-election.
