Who's Who in Benicia: Tracey Seelen

New Benician has a flair for historical undergarments.

Where did you grow up? Anaheim

How did you end up in Benicia? I wanted to make a fresh start and a friend knew of a house available here.

How long have you lived here? Since April

Do you have children? Yes, my 22-year-old daughter is an EMT and firefighter. My 20-year old son is a student.

What do you do? I am training as a bartender and I am a fashion designer.

Where did you learn design? I studied fashion at San Joaquin Delta College.

What kind of fashion to you make? I focus on corsets for historical reenactment costumes, theater and party wear. I'm working on a new line of corsets. My business is called Sew it Fits and I hope to get my designs into Benicia boutiques. I am currently working on a trunk show. 

How did you get into historical costuming? I am a docent at Sutter Fort in Sacramento so I have to wear a corset and know their history.

What are your favorite places in Benicia? , , and . I try to get out every week to discover a new place in town.

What do you love about this town? I love the small-town feel of Benicia, the and the marina, it's a great place to run.
