Woman Fatally Struck By Amtrak Train In Solano County

The incident early Thursday involved westbound Capitol Corridor train No. 523.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A woman was struck and killed by a westbound Amtrak Capitol Corridor train in Fairfield on Thursday morning, according to Union Pacific Railroad officials.

The collision between the train and pedestrian occurred at about 6:16 a.m. near the intersection of East Tabor and Railroad avenues, Union Pacific spokesman Tim McMahan said.

Amtrak officials reported Train No. 523 was delayed and stopped near the collision site — per Amtrak's train tracker website — as of 6:29 a.m.
