$50K Reward For Berkeley Cold Case Killing Of Chilean Man

Adolfo Ignacio Celedon Bravo was celebrating his 35th birthday with his fiancee when he was gunned down while walking home.

BERKELEY, CA — Police are hoping someone will provide information leading to suspects who gunned down a Chilean man on a Berkeley street 12 years ago.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction in the shooting death of Adolfo Ignacio Celedon Bravo, Berkeley police said Monday.

Celedon, known to his family as Fito, was a native of Chile who moved to Berkeley to be with his fiancee.

The couple were walking home after a party on Sept. 12, 2010, Celedon's 35th birthday, when they were confronted by two suspects at the corner of Adeline and Emerson streets, police said.

Celedon was shot and his fiancee was punched in the face before the suspects fled in dark older-model sport utility vehicle, according to police.

Detectives are hopeful that someone will come forward with information, and said even the smallest detail could prove critical in solving the case.
