AC Transit Seeks Input On Better Bus Service

Dear BUSD Community,

We are sharing this opportunity for community Engagement from AC Transit which is especially important to families who use AC Transit:

The transportation landscape in the region has changed dramatically since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and AC Transit, as a public transit provider, wants to ensure that we are doing everything possible to meet the new needs of our communities. This is why AC Transit has embarked upon a service wide redesign entitled Realign that aims to provide a service that meets the demands of the post-pandemic era.

We’ve incorporated feedback from the previous two outreach phases to develop draft service scenarios, as described in the eNews below. This is an incredibly important phase of outreach for our Realign process because these draft network scenarios show how these changes will affect our riders, including students of Berkeley Unified.

We will be out in communities throughout our service area to solicit feedback and we ask that you help us promote this effort amongst your networks. Below is a list of upcoming public meetings where community members can share their feedback, with the full list of outreach events at the Realign website at www.actransit.org/realign, along with detailed maps and descriptions of the draft service scenarios and other Realign related materials.

Additionally, AC Transit will be holding a community workshop, details below:

This will be a multilingual meeting with Spanish and Chinese interpretation held online via Zoom. Dedicated Spanish only and Chinese only language lines available for callers joining via landlines or regular cell phones.
