Large crowds had gathered inside and outside the building when the suspects went to grab handguns from a car, deputies said.

Deputies say the suspects were waiting for a rapper and associates to leave the party. When they saw the rapper leaving, they fired about 70 rounds at them, deputies said.

None of the gunfire struck the intended target, and instead struck two bystanders who were passengers in an Uber getting ready to leave, deputies.

One of the passengers, a male, survived the shooting, while the other, a woman, died at the scene from her injuries, deputies said.

The victims did not know the suspects and were simply caught in the crossfire, police said.

The suspects were identified as Juan Colmenero, 20, of Emeryville, Avante Washington, 18, of Antelope, Kymani Agbouti, 18, of Vallejo and two Oakland minors whose names were not released because of their age.

Everyone but Colmenero was arrested on April 20 in connection with the shooting.

Colmenero,, who fled to Puerto Rico following the shooting, returned to SFO on Wednesday, where he was taken into custody on suspicion of murder, authorities said.

It's unclear why he returned to San Francisco.
