BERKELEY, CA — A 20-year-old man was hospitalized in critical but stable condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a busy Berkeley street Friday night, police said.
The man was crossing Telegraph Avenue at Carleton Street about 10:09 p.m. when a 64-year-old Oakland woman driving south on Telegraph Avenue struck him, according to police.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. Police said they did not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
The department's Fatal Accident Investigation Team was investigating because of the severity of the man's injuries.
