Berkeley Makalu Lions Club holds officers Installation

Berkeley Makalu Lions Club has hosted a District Governor Visitation & the installation ceremony of its new officers for the year 2022/2022

Berkeley Makalu Lions Club has hosted a District Governor Visitation and the installation ceremony of its new officers for the year 2022/2023 in Berkeley Marina Shorebird Park on August 15, 2022. District Governor Linda Barbara Installed Shardha Dahal as its new Club President. The event was held with the remarkable presence of District officers community leaders, and Lions members.

Berkeley Makalu Lions club was Installed as the third Nepali Lions Club in California under the Charter President of Manohara Thapa Bogti on November 15, 2015. Berkeley Annapurna Lions Club, which was established in 2006 sponsored the club in district 4-C3. The Club was officially sponsored by Berkeley Annapurna under the presidentship of Lion Dhruva Thapa. In the beginning, the club had mostly female members, So far the Club has four female Presidents and three Male Presidents and successfully completed many projects and services to the community.

Outgoing President Rajendra Mukhia called to order the event followed by the Pledge of Allegiance, invocation, and national anthems of the USA and Nepal. Berkeley Annapurna’s Past President Lion Dhruva thapa welcomed and recognized the District officers and Club presidents, community representatives, and fellow Lions.

Outgoing President Mukhia handed over the Certificates, awards, and special recognition to his team and other fellow lions who supported making his tenure successful. In his speech, he really appreciated all the lions for their generous support and thanked all the volunteers and fellow lions for providing all the necessary help for the event.
Out of Six new members, only three were present at the event was installed by First VDG Manil Babu Shrestha with a pin and oath ceremony. The keynote Speaker PDG Rajen Thapa motivated and encouraged everyone to work sincerely with the motto we serve. He also highlighted the importance of being a lion where there are lots of possibilities to develop his or her leadership skill through Lions Clubs International. Other guest speakers were Past District Governors Bill riddle and James Varghese.

District Governor Linda Barbara Installed the new executive teams with the oath and distribution of her pin to New President Shardha Dahal and her entire team. President Dahal accepted her position and thanked everyone for trusting her and electing her to the prestigious position of Club’s President. She also presented a special recognition gift to the outgoing President. The program was concluded with Homemade Lunch prepared by Clubs officers and members. A vote of thanks was given by the Club’s Past President and current Zone Chair Anjam Rizal. As a Zone Chair, he also introduced the Installation Officer Linda Barbara. Officially at noon the event was adjourned by Newly elected President Shardha Dahal.
