Berkeley Man Arrested For Alleged Gun Crimes

Police say he had a loaded and concealed revolver in his pocket when he was stopped.

BERKELEY, CA —A man was arrested last Thursday in Berkeley after a traffic stop revealed he was carrying a loaded firearm, police said.

At about 12:40 p.m., a Berkeley police officer stopped a black Mercedes-Benz at College Avenue and Parker Street for numerous vehicle code violations. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Michael Bishop, 52,
of Berkeley, police said.

The officer learned that Bishop was driving with a suspended driver's license. When Bishop was searched, the officer found a loaded and concealed revolver in his pocket, police said.

Bishop was arrested on suspicion of multiple firearm offenses and driving on a suspended license.
