Update: Berkeley Nanny Arrested, Charged With Abusing Infant
The nanny was shown on surveillance video violently abusing the 6-month-old boy, according to court documents.

BERKELEY, CA — Court documents are shedding light on the alleged abuse endured by a 6-month-old infant at the hands of his nanny in Berkeley.
Police arrested 44-year-old Ingrid Perez on Monday.
The alleged abuse happened on Oct. 19. In court documents, police described surveillance video turned over by the parents, writing that it appears Perez entered the infant's bedroom and hit him in the back of the
head with her knuckles as if she was knocking on a door, telling him to "shh."

"Perez then forcibly moved the victim to the top of the crib nearly hitting his head on the railing of the crib," investigators wrote. "She turned his head to the right and appears to shove his head into the bed with her left hand."
After that, she hits him on the bottom and again in the back of the head, then appears to once again shove his head into the bed, according to court documents.

The child was examined at a hospital and released. He did not suffer any injuries.
According to police, Perez was en route to another child care job when she was arrested by police on Monday, Oct. 31.
The Alameda County District Attorney's Office has charged Perez with one felony count and one misdemeanor count of child abuse.
Perez, a Richmond resident, has been caring for children in the Bay Area for the past 10 years. Police investigators contacted families who have employed her recently to ensure that all children who were in her care are safe.
