Berkeley PD Trying to Determine If Crime Occurred After Woman Screams

BREAKING: Police are hoping someone will come forward regarding the mysterious incident on College Avenue.

BERKELEY, CA – Police are asking for help from the University of California at Berkeley community in determining whether a crime occurred on Wednesday evening in Berkeley, university police said.

At 6:50 p.m. an off-duty police officer was driving on College Avenue when he heard a possible female victim scream.

A possible male suspect was behind the potential victim and ran off southbound College Avenue into the yards of homes on Parker Street.

Berkeley police officers are asking for more information to find out whether a crime occurred, the type of crime or whether someone attempted a crime.

Police said they don't know the race of the possible suspect but he appeared to be in his mid-20s.
