BERKELEY, CA — A hearing will be held this evening to allow the public to share ideas with Berkeley city officials on what services and types of housing are needed for low-income residents in the city.

The hearing will start at 6 p.m. at the South Berkeley Senior Center at 2939 Ellis St.

In the most recent fiscal year, the city gave out $7.8 million to 51 nonprofits operating 102 programs to help the homeless and children, provide youth programs, disability programs, employment training among other
assistance.
