​Body Of Missing UC Berkeley Student Found In Lake

Saketh Sreenivasaiah, an Indian post-graduate student, had been last seen on Tuesday in the 1700 block of Dwight Way, according to police.

BERKELEY, CA — The body of a missing 22-year-old UC Berkeley student was found in Tilden Regional Park's Lake Anza over the weekend, authorities said.

Saketh Sreenivasaiah, an Indian post-graduate student, had been last seen on Tuesday in the 1700 block of Dwight Way, according to Berkeley police.

On Saturday afternoon, his body was found in Lake Anza, according to the Contra Costa Sheriff's Office. A cause of death has not been determined.

The Consulate General of India in San Francisco posted a statement Saturday on social media confirming that Sreenivasaiah's body had been found. Sreenivasaiah was from the State of Karnataka in India.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this profoundly difficult time," the consulate's office posted on X. "Our consular officers are in direct contact with the family and will support them with all required formalities and services."
