Buddha - Nepal Peace Foundation California announces peace rally in the heart of historic city of San Francisco on Saturday May 28, 2016 starting from 2:00 PM at the Union Square on the Auspicious occasion of Shakyamuni Gautama Buddha's Birth Anniversary.

The Buddha Nepal Peace Foundation is a California based non profit organization registered in 2014. The foundation was previously known as The Lumbini Kapilvastu Peace movement and has been organizing Peace march every year in the Cities of Northern California. According to the Foundation's General Secretary Sunil RajKarnikar The Foundation has scheduled to have peace walk 2016 in the city of San Francisco on Saturday May 28, 2016 . Therfore,  he urged all the peace lovers to participate the peace walk and to make a meaningful support to make the world better place to live with peace and harmony. He further writes in his press release note, it is our proud privilege to forward you the official Invitation letter to join the Peace March Event. According to the press release, "We would very much appreciate if you could manage to send your community friends to support our effort to further spread the essence of PEACE Movement in San Francisco, California USA.

As always foundations main objective is to Promote Nepal as the Birth Place of Historic Shakyamuni Buddha who was born in Lumbini Garden of Nepal. The peace walk is organized on the auspicious occasion of 2559th Birth Anniversary of Shakyamuni Buddha who is also popularly known as the Light of Asia. Another objective of the foundation is to promote Nepal as a pilgrimage destination for Buddhists and peace lovers.

On April 24th the foundation has a special meeting in Richmond California to discuss and plan the event. The meeting was chaired by foundation's President Dr. Kishore Sherchand and lead by Mr. Rajkarnikar. In the meeting Dr. Sherchand informed that the foundation has decided to participate in the Three day international conference to be held in Lumbini, Nepal from May 19 - 21, 2016. Mr. Dikendra Maskey from Santa Rosa, and Dr. Amod Pokhrel from UC Berkely, California will participate in the conference. The UN Secretary General and many other world leaders have been invited to participate in the conference. Similarly Foundation's Vice President Chinkaji Shrestha thanked all the board members volunteers and local organizations of Bay area for their meaningful presence and support in past events and expect more participation this year too. Similarly Punam Shakya urged the foundation to write official letter to all the local organizations to join the peace walk in their ethnic and cultural costumes to recognize Nepal's diverse culture and send message to the world as unity in diversity.

The meeting unanimously approved to invite officially to all the local organizations to support the peace walk and also asked their valuable suggestion and guide line to make the program a grand success. According to General Secretary All details of the program will be release soon to make smooth functioning and asked everyone to participate the Peace walk 2016.

The foundation has also participated for the first time in UC Davis Picnic Day on Saturday, April 16th, 2016 . It is one of the Historic event celebrating every year since last 102 Years. The event showcases the richness of diversity and achievement at UC Davis and the surrounding community in the areas of research, teaching, service, and campus life. The Foundation got an special opportunity to showcase cultural dresses of Nepal carrying the flags and messages of Buddha was born in Nepal.
