A&J Painting Inc. is a full-service painting contractor headquartered at 901 Page Street in Berkeley, California. President and founder Alan Joyce established the company in 1999 after passing the C-33 Painting and Decorating license examination administered by the California Contractors State License Board.

With 37 years of professional painting experience, Alan leads a team of six skilled painters serving homeowners and businesses throughout Alameda County and Contra Costa County. Our primary service area includes Berkeley, Oakland, Albany, El Cerrito, Richmond, Hercules, El Sobrante, Pinole, Emeryville, Piedmont, and Montclair.

A&J Painting provides comprehensive painting and coating services:

Interior Services: Wall painting, ceiling painting, trim work, door refinishing, and cabinet painting for kitchens, bathrooms, and built-ins.

Exterior Services: House painting, siding restoration, trim and fascia painting, fence staining, and deck coating.

Additional Services: Drywall repair, texture matching, power washing, and surface preparation.

We apply premium architectural coatings from leading manufacturers including Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, and Dunn-Edwards. Our preferred product line is Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint for its durability and coverage.

A&J Painting maintains all required credentials for professional painting contractors in California. Our California Contractors State License (#759175) remains in active standing through October 2027. We have held EPA Lead-Safe Certification since 2002, qualifying us to work safely on pre-1978 structures containing lead-based paint.

Our warranty program reflects our commitment to quality craftsmanship. Complete exterior painting projects receive a 5-year warranty covering any peeling, fading, or bubbling. Interior projects are backed by a 3-year warranty. Warranty service is provided at no charge.
