Cal Bears Going to the US Quidditch Cup!

Yes, Quidditch, as in Harry Potter. But there's no cash to get this team to South Carolina so they're seeking donations. Link is included.

BERKELEY, CA - If you enjoyed the Harry Potter books and movies then you're familiar with the game of Quidditch. But did you know that college and community teams all over the world play the game, complete with broomsticks?

Not only that, Cal's team has qualified for the US Quidditch Cup, formerly called the World Cup, to be held next month in Columbia, South Carolina.

The 40 self-proclaimed nerds are now trying to raise the money for their flights, hotels, and tournament fees. They've started a GoFundMe campaign. They write in their pitch, "For the last five years, our team has been one of the worst in the country. But this year, we shocked everyone by qualifying for the US Quidditch Cup, after we upset UCLA, the number two ranked team. We could not be more excited to represent Cal and the Bay Area in the national arena."
