Cal Fans Invited to Follow 2015 National Signing Day Wednesday

Fans are invited to follow the excitement of 2015 National Signing Day and get all of the official information first in real time by visiting CalBears.com/Signing Day this Wednesday, Feb. 4. Comprehensive coverage begins with the activation of the page early in the morning and will run throughout the day. Cal’s National Signing Day Press Conference featuring head coach Sonny Dykes will begin at 1 p.m. PT and be streamed live via CalBears.com and Pac-12.com. The press conference will take place in the Tahir Family Team Theater in the Simpson Center for Student-Athlete High Performance adjacent to California Memorial Stadium.

CalBears.com will be on site in the football offices at the Simpson Center for Student-Athlete High Performance throughout the day to update the Golden Bears’ list of 2015 signees as National Letters of Intent arrive. In addition to press conference coverage, the signing day central site will include links to an all-day chat on Facebook that will include segments with Dykes and others, biographical information, features, video clips, social media channels and much more. Fans can all follow coverage of National Signing Day through the official Cal online and social media outlets listed below and join in the conversation by using the hashtags #CalFamily, #Pac12NSD, #SigningDay and #GoBears.

Following Cal’s Signing Day activities, Pac-12 Networks will air “Football Weekly: Signing Day Special” on Wednesday from 5:30 – 8 p.m. PT, on all seven Pac-12 Networks, Pac-12.com/now and the Pac-12 Now app. All 12 of the league’s head coaches will appear on the show with Mike Yam and analysts Rick Neuheisel and Yogi Roth. Pac-12.com will also provide coverage all day through its microsite at pac-12.com/football/national-signing-day. Additional coverage will be available on the conference’s social media outlets.

Cal finished the 2014 season with a 5-7 overall record and 3-6 conference mark to place fourth in the Pac-12 North Division for its highest showing since the 2011 team was also fourth. Cal’s four-win improvement in 2014 was its largest since 2002.

The 2015 season begins with a home game against Grambling State at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 5. Fans can renew their season tickets for the 2015 campaign online at CalBears.com or by calling 800-GO-BEARS.

NATIONAL SIGNING DAY PRESS CONFERENCE LOCATION/PARKING/TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS
Press Conference Location – The Tahir Family Meeting Room is located in the Simpson Center for Student-Athlete High Performance in Berkeley at 2227 Piedmont Avenue between Bancroft Way and Hearst Avenue. The building is adjacent to Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium. Parking in the vicinity is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please be sure to read all signs at each parking location for further important information. There are also public transportation options. See below for some suggestions.

Recreational Sports Facility Garage – Located on the north side of Bancroft Way between Dana Street and Ellsworth Street.

Street Parking – Paid and limited street parking may be available on streets near the press conference location.

Underhill Garage – Located on the corner of Channing Way and College Avenue.

Witter Lot – Located near the corner of Centennial Drive and Stadium Rim Way.

Public Transportation – Public transportation is highly recommended when visiting Berkeley. There are multiple public transportation options that lead to the press conference location. BART has a station in downtown Berkeley about one mile west of the venue. Visit bart.gov, actransit.org or 511.org for more information.
