Update: Berkeley Chemical Incident Over

Ammonia had been released at a lab.

BERKELEY, CA — Ammonia readings at Bayer Lab are back to zero, the Berkeley Police Department reports, following an ammonia release inside a building. A haz-mat response has been terminated. No injuries were reported.

The ammonia was contained, with no release to the atmosphere. At this time, the cause of the release has not been announced. The fire department reported the release at 4:45 pm. Thursday.

The Berkeley Fire Department's hazardous materials team and Bayer's emergency response team worked together to resolve the situation.
