City Of Berkeley: 2 Suspects Arrested After A Trio Of August Robberies

At 5 pm, an armed male suspect robbed a man as he returned to his vehicle in the Mechanics Bank parking lot in West Berkeley.

Berkeley, California (Tuesday, October 05, 2021) - In a period of thirty minutes on the late afternoon of August 10th, several people were robbed at gunpoint throughout the City. In each of the robberies, the suspects targeted people who had just come from within a bank.

At 4:30 pm, an armed male suspect robbed a man in the area of College Avenue and Woolsey Street after the man walked out of a nearby Bank of America.

At 4:58 pm, an armed male suspect robbed a man and woman as they returned to their vehicle in the Wells Fargo bank parking lot in West Berkeley.

At 5 pm, an armed male suspect robbed a man as he returned to his vehicle in the Mechanics Bank parking lot in West Berkeley.

During the investigation, detectives reviewed security surveillance recordings from the robberies and were able to identify the suspect’s getaway vehicle. With this information, detectives placed a law enforcement notice to other law enforcement agencies that the vehicle is associated with several armed robberies.
