City Of Berkeley: Suspect Charged With Burglary And Attempted Rape
When officers went inside the residence, they found the suspect hiding in a bathtub—naked from the waist down.

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, November 03, 2021) - On November 1st at 1:35 am, officers responded to a residence on the 2800 block of Wallace Street on a report of a prowler who was seen looking into a rear window of a teenage girl’s bedroom. While officers were at the scene investigating the incident, they heard a woman screaming nearby. The woman was screaming for help and to call the police. Officers immediately went outside to see what was happening and saw a woman come out from a residence next door. The woman told officers she woke up to a naked man inside her bedroom and he was still inside.

When officers went inside the residence, they found the suspect hiding in a bathtub—naked from the waist down.
After additional investigation into the incident, officers arrested the suspect (a 39-year-old man, no address) on suspicion of attempted burglary, burglary, and attempted rape.

On November 2nd, the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office charged the suspect with PC 664/PC 459—Attempted burglary,PC 459—Burglary, PC 664/PC 261(a)(2)—Attempted forcible rape as well as several criminal enhancements.
