Episcopal Senior Communities and Oak Center Towers Celebrated 50 Years of Service
ESC, Residents, Staff and Supporters Were Honored by Local Officials for Excellent Service to Seniors
(Oakland, Calif., July 20, 2015) --- On July 17, 2015 from Noon to 2 p.m., esteemed officials and community leaders gathered at Oak Center Towers in Oakland to honor Episcopal Senior Communities’ 50th Anniversary.
The program consisted of thankful words from City Council President Lynette Gibson McElhaney, Chief of Police Sean Whent, Senator Loni Hancock’s representative Isabel Cortes and County Supervisor Keith Carson’s representative Elaine Brown.
ESC held a celebration in tribute to those who have been instrumental in improving the lives of seniors throughout the organization’s 50 years of service. Oak Center Towers features three language interpreters to translate speeches from English into Korean, Mandarin, and Cantonese, for an all inclusive cultural community.

Episcopal Senior Communities is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping seniors maintain healthy, vibrant and independent lives. Through their many initiatives and non-profit efforts, including the ElderWISE program, Senior Resources @ Home, Senior Center Without Walls, and the Senior Produce Markets, ESC is providing valuable services that alleviate isolation and promote healthy lifestyles.
Oak Center Towers opened its doors in 1974 and houses 259 residents in a vibrant community for at-risk seniors. The community provides low-income seniors with a place where individuals thrive and friendships flourish, where every day brings new opportunities to learn and interact, to relax and enjoy their lives among people who care.
