Raffle to Support Haitian Students

Two pieces of Haitian art are being raffled off in this ongoing benefit effort by members of St. Columba Church of Jazz Vespers fame. Several years ago -- well before the earthquake -- the group, "Hope for Haiti Education," vowed to sponsor 170 kids from Grand Ravine, Haiti, for their education through secondary school and even college, if applicable. Parishioners displayed the artwork at Berkeley, where it and their cause were well received. The drawing will be held Aug. 1.
