Volunteer on the second Saturdays of each month to help maintain Schoolhouse Creek Common, a community park, orchard, and garden opened in 2006 at Virginia and Curtis streets at the site of the former Franklin School.
This attractive public space contains a wide diversity of native plants that do well in the Berkeley flats and an assortment of drought-tolerant Mediterranean plants. Bring your children, who will love the tire swing and the East Bay's most beautiful sandbox.
