Berkeley Baroque Strings Concerts May 3 and May 15, 2016

“Gods and Heroes” is the theme of the Berkeley Baroque Strings final concerts of the 2015-16 season. The orchestra will perform the “King Arthur Suite” and the “Suite from the Fairy Queen” by Henry Purcell. Also on the program will be Handel’s “Overture from Hercules,” “Overture from Xerxes,” and “Overture from Judas Maccabeus.”

Under the music direction of Kati Kyme, a member of the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra and the New Esterhazy Quartet, the chamber orchestra is an affiliate of the San Francisco Early Music Society.

Admission is free on Tuesday, May 3 at 7:30pm. Donations are gratefully accepted.

The program will be repeated on Sunday, May 15 at 5:00pm as a fundraiser. Tickets $20 ($10 senior/student) at the door.

Both concerts take place at St. Clement's Episcopal Church, 2837 Claremont Blvd., Berkeley.
