Good Samaritans Sought Who Helped Kidnap Victim Escape

The kidnapping happened on College Avenue near Haste Street early Wednesday.

BERKELEY, CA — The Berkeley Police Department is seeking out two good Samaritans said to have helped a victim during a kidnapping early Wednesday morning.

Police said the kidnapping occurred around 2:05 a.m. on College Avenue near Haste Street.

Officers described the suspect as a Black man in his 20s or 30s who is 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was last seen wearing a black long-sleeved top with a hood, gray pants and white shoes, police said.

Police are hoping to speak with two people who helped the victim. Police describe the good Samaritans as an Asian man in his 20s named Adam wearing a dark shirt and an Asian woman in her 20s wearing a brown leather jacket and skinny jeans.
