Kara Cooney is author of The Woman Who Would Be King: Hatshepsut and her Rise to Power in Ancient Egypt, published in 2013 by Crown. Hear in this free talk how this mighty queen governed a peaceful and prosperous Egypt for 20 years at the height of its glory.

Cooney is associate professor of Egyptology at UCLA. She co-curated Tutankhamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs at the LA County Museum of Art and starred in the Discovery Channel series Out of Egypt.
