Help Needed Finding 72-Year-Old Berkeley Man's Attackers
The attack occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 6.

BERKELEY, CA -- Police are asking for help identifying a group of young suspects who seriously injured a 72-year-old man in an attack this month in downtown Berkeley. The attack occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 6 on Martin Luther King Jr. Way between University Avenue and Addison Street, not far from Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center Park.
Six to eight suspects approached the victim from behind, shoved him down to the ground and beat him before leaving the area in a vehicle that may have been a silver or white minivan, possibly a Nissan Quest.
In a series of security video released by police, the suspects can be seen repeatedly kicking the man in the head while he laid on the ground, not moving.

The suspects were described as a group of six to eight black males, thought to be in their teens or early 20s.
The victim was treated at a hospital for his injuries and has since been released.
