Is UC Berkeley Still Worth the Money?
In relation to other state universities, UC Berkeley's "salary earning potential" dropped from second place to fifth place in just one year.

According to the Daily Cal, University of California, Berkeley has taken a downward spiral last year in terms of earning potential for graduates. While it was rated first in a 2009-2010 report, and second place in 2010-2011, it has now dropped to fifth place in 2011-2012 .
They're looking at this PayScale report.
This drop in rankings could come as a result of a shaky economy, according to campus associate professor of economics and public policy Jesse Rothstein.

“One might expect that the economic downturn, which has hurt California worse than the country as a whole, would have led to a decline in the relative earnings of California residents,” he said. “Since Berkeley grads are more likely than typical grads to live in California, this could account for the declines.”
The State University of New York (SUNY) is rated first.
