Thinking about joining a jazz group, but you’re feeling shy or discouraged by the lack of other women musicians?

JazzGirls Day and JazzGirl programs are beginning to happen all over the US. This year, JazzGirls events are taking place in Berkeley, San Francisco, Seattle and NYC and likely other cities around the country.

Saturday, March 7th, 1-5pm at Berkeley High School Community Theater

**Register at the event only! No advance registration or RSVP required this year.**

Every year in March (usually on International Women’s Day) Berkeley High School Jazz produces JazzGirls Day. Come join us on Saturday, March 7th, 2015 for the 4th Annual JazzGirls Day at the Berkeley High School Community Theater. Elementary and middle school musicians, ages 10 – 14, who play or sing jazz or are thinking about trying it out, are invited to join professional female jazz musicians and educators for the afternoon. Activities will include master classes, jam sessions and a concert.

The Berkeley event is FREE and open to ALL girls from the Bay Area and beyond, ages 10-14, who sing or play an instrument.

  • Ellen Seeling, trumpet, Director of The Montclair Women’s Big Band

  • Janice Maxie-Reid, vocals
  • Kasey Knudsen, sax, Sonoma State
  • Ariane Cap, bass
  • Michaelle Goerlitz, percussion

ALL families and friends are invited to a FREE screening of the fabulous film, “The Girls in the Band,” in the Berkeley High Little Theater from 4-5pm. Free sweet treats!
