Local Publisher Rallies Against Oppression and Brutality in Indonesia

Bay Area publisher speaks about two of her latest books and the connections to Indonesia at University Press Bookstore in Berkeley

Lian Gouw, founder of Dalang Publishing, presents two of her latest books. Daughters of Papua by Anindita S. Thayf is about the Papuans who fight brutality during the course of claiming their land, and KEI by Erni Aladjai which accounts the human cost of sectarian violence that causes thousands to be killed or injured.

Dalang, the Indonesian word for Master Storyteller, provides a platform for Indonesian writers to introduce their work to an English readership and specializes in historical fiction. Indonesia has been chosen as the guest of honor at the 2015 Frankfurt Book Fair. www.dalangpublishing.com
