Sexual Battery Arrest At Berkeley Homeless Shelter: Cops
An 18-year-old man staying at the shelter was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
BERKELEY, CA — An 18-year-old man staying in a Berkeley emergency youth shelter was arrested as a suspect in three alleged sexual assaults at that shelter, police said.
Police were called at about 1 a.m. on Monday, June 17 to a youth shelter in the 1700 block of University Avenue, on the report that a man there had assaulted a woman. Both were staying at the shelter, Berkeley police Officer Byron White said Sunday in an email.
The victim told police she had been grabbed and/or touched in a sexual manner on three separate occasions by the suspect. Police found Antonio Missail, 18, in the shelter, where he was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery, kidnapping and false imprisonment.
