Man Robbed Of Cell Phone At Bus Stop

University Police have released a description of the suspect.

BERKELEY, CA — The University of California Berkeley's Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect who robbed a man of a cell phone on Tuesday night.

Police said the robbery occurred around 8:25 p.m. at a bus stop near the intersection of Haste Street and College Avenue when the suspect approached, pushed the victim and took his cell phone.

A search of the area did not find the suspect, who police said fled east on Haste Street then north on Piedmont Avenue.

The suspect is described as a 17-to-19-year-old dark-skinned man who was wearing a red-hooded sweatshirt and red shorts.
