
On Mother's Day, Sunday, May 8, Homestead in Oakland will be serving a $60.00 three-course prix-fixe menu from 4:30 to 9:00 PM. There will be two choices for each course: appetizers of Ricotta Infornata with apricots, watercress, hazelnuts and rosemary or Smoked Rainbow Trout with fennel, avocado, Meyer lemon and nasturtium; main courses of Olive Oil Poached Halibut with minted snap peas and their leaves, butter beans and olives or Ribeye cooked in the fireplace, with asparagus, fondant potatoes and sauce béarnaise; and for dessert, Triple Chocolate Trifle with cherries or Profiteroles with fresh goat cheese, strawberries and candied pistachios.
Homestead prices include service, enabling the restaurant to pay their employees a living wage and eliminating the need for guests to leave a gratuity.
