Mount Everest Diaries, a Seven Summit Climber turned Comedian

October 8th, Saturday, 6:30 pm she is performing at the prestigious Sydney Goldstein Theatre, City Arts & Lecture, San Francisco.

Shaili Basnet is a multi-talented woman who has climbed Mount Everest, led the world's first all-female team to successfully climb the world's seven summits, empowered young women survivors of human trafficking and is a popular stand-up comedian.

After completing her graduation in Business Information system she started her career as Journalist in Nepal and went to India for further studies. While working as a journalist, she was attracted to mountain climbing and Social work as well. Before climbing Mt. Everest, she had no mountain climbing experience but she did it, but that was not the limit for her career, recently she started performing in Stand up Comedy, and she has become a 'role model' for many as she works equally hard in social service work.

She is currently putting together a special show, 'Mount Everest Diaries', a family-friendly stand-up comedy fundraiser in downtown San Francisco. Shaili was the keynote speaker at the International Lions Club convention in Toronto at the invitation of Past International President Barry Palmer. After 2011, and 2014, Shaili Basnet is coming back to us again with a more magnificent and grand program that will raise the identity and dignity of all Nepalis living in this region. She currently leads the “Women's Leadership Academy” in Nepal to train and help women victims of human trafficking. The program provides training and mentoring to over 200 members, including survivors as well as vulnerable and marginalized women. The program empowers participants to become licensed trekking guides, and outdoor experts and develop other professional careers.

Shaili is an internationally sought-after speaker, taking audiences on virtual journeys to the Himalayas and sharing her hard-earned insights. She has addressed audiences at prestigious platforms including Lions Club International Convention 2014, Toastmasters International Convention, Fortune 500 companies, and universities. Moreover, she entertains, laughs, and entertains the audience on stage as a stand-up comic. Apart from this, she has performed brilliantly in popular clubs in Nepal, USA, and India. Her journey has been covered by BBC, ESPN, New York Daily News, PBS, and many other newspapers and magazines. Shaili and her team have received medals, letters of appreciation, and honors from the White House of the United States to the President of Nepal.
