New Mandarin Immersion After-School Program & Summer Camp now open in Berkeley

Hanwen School offers after-school Mandarin Chinese enrich­ment to ele­men­tary school chil­dren in Berke­ley, Albany, & Kensington.

Hanwen School is a newly started business in Berkeley offering after-school Chinese enrichment program to elementary school children (grades K-5). They also offer a Mandarin immersion summer science camp.

They provide a learning environment where chil­dren can learn Chi­ne­se in fun and engag­ing ways through a combination of lan­guage class­es and cul­tur­al enrich­ment activ­i­ties. Chil­dren build aware­ness of Chi­ne­se cul­ture and her­itage. Some of their enrich­ment activ­i­ties include Chi­ne­se arts & crafts, cal­lig­ra­phy, dra­ma, and music. A large indoor gym gives children an way to practice their language abilities through play-based inter­ac­tive games.

They also work with local com­mu­ni­ty to provide option­al pri­vate piano, vio­lin, or mar­tial arts lessons.

Transportation Options

For families with children attending "Central Zone" schools in Berkeley Unified School district, Hanwen School will pick up your child around the corner at a designated bus dropoff point and bring them to their facility.

They also plan to offer after-school shuttle trans­porta­tion from your child’s ele­men­tary school on a case-by-case basis.
