Oh No! There's Men on the Land!

Legendary comic Karen Ripley in new solo show at The Marsh

The Marsh presents Karen Ripley’s new show OH NO THERE’S MEN ON THE LAND at The Marsh Berkeley Cabaret through May 30. Called “One of the funniest comics out there today” by KQED, Ripley will take audiences on a wild ride through her mishaps, adventures, and self-discovery as a young lesbian in 1970s Berkeley.

Karen Ripley has been performing for more than 35 years as a comic and improviser. She came on to the gay comedy scene in 1977 in San Francisco, and has won several awards for her work as a playwright and performer, including Best Musical Comedy for the original play Show Me Where It Hurts at the 2005 SF Fringe Festival. A longtime comedian and improviser, Ms. Ripley was named one of Ms. Magazine’s top 100 Lesbian Comics in 2009. She was featured in Logo’s stand-up comedy series “Wisecrack” and is passionate about bringing laughter to LGBT communities around the country.
