Photos Of Fraud Suspect Released By Berkeley Police

BERKELEY, CA — Berkeley police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who was impersonating a Meals on Wheels employee in front of a grocery store last week.

According to police, the man was outside of a Safeway at 1550 Shattuck Ave. between 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. last Thursday asking people for donations. When actual Meals on Wheels staff confronted him, police said the man ran away.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 60s who is around 6 feet tall and was wearing an older version of a Meals on Wheels white shirt, white pants and shoes. He may have been driving a gray Ford Taurus.
