Rob Reich's Thymesia + Ben Goldberg XYZ in the Redwood Grove

UC Botanical Garden at Berkeley presents imaginative jazz in the stunning Redwood Grove.

July 28
Door at 5 pm | Show at 5:30 pm

Rob Reich’s Thymesia
Rob Reich grew up in Long Island, New York, studying piano from age three. After graduating with a degree in Music Composition from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where he discovered the accordion, now his primary instrument. Reich’s music defies genre. His music combines strong melodic ideas, rhythmic drive, and a spirit of irreverence and experimentation.

Ben Goldberg XYZ
The diversity of clarinetist Ben Goldberg’s musical interests may only be matched by the intensity of his study. He grew up on The Beatles and classic jazz, started playing Klezmer music at the University of California, Berkeley in the early ’80s, and studied with renowned classical clarinet teacher Rosario Mazzeo.
