Sexual Battery Arrest At UC Berkeley

A 45-year-old man was taken into custody.

BERKELEY, CA — A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses after he allegedly inappropriately touched a University of California at Berkeley student early Monday morning, campus police said.

The sexual battery occurred when Jesus Dickey allegedly approached a female student at the Durant Food Court at 1:15 a.m. The victim told police that the man asked her for a hug and followed her to Freeborn Hall in
Residence Hall Unit 1 when she refused.

Police said Dickey allegedly grabbed the woman's buttock at the entrance of the building and then followed her into the residence hall. A security monitor at the building entrance told the suspect to leave and called UC police, who said they located and arrested Dickey at about 3 a.m.
