Sig-Alert Lifted From I-80

An overturned big rig forced all traffic to exit in Berkeley, backing up traffic for miles.

BERKELEY, CA — Traffic was backed up for miles through the Tuesday morning commute on westbound Interstate Highway 80 in Berkeley because of a multi-vehicle crash that included an overturned big-rig.

The California Highway Patrol chose to divert traffic off the highway at University Avenue.

According to the CHP incident log, the crash was first reported at 4:44 a.m. For a time, all lanes were blocked.
