Skeletonized Human Remains Found On UC Berkeley's Campus: Reports
The Alameda County Coroner's office is investigating, Fox KTVU reported.
BERKELEY, CA — Skeletonized human remains were found on the Clark Kerr Campus at UC Berkeley on Tuesday, school officials told Fox KTVU.
What appeared to be a human skeleton was found in a building that has "not been occupied for many years," Building 21 on 2601 Warring Street, south of the main campus, the outlet reported, citing school officials' notification to students.
The University of California Police Department told CNN that there are no outstanding cases of people missing from the school or campus, and it is not clear how long the remains have been at the site.

It was not immediately clear if the remains were that of a man or a woman.
The Alameda County Coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Fox KTVU reported.

Officials plan to release the autopsy results once they are available, the outlet reported.
In a statement to CNN, police said, “We understand that there are many questions and we anticipate that the coroner’s report will provide additional information. We do not anticipate this investigation will disrupt resident activities at the Clark Kerr Campus.”
